Personal History: A native of Camden, New Jersey, Walker has a bachelor’s degree in music from Virginia State University, a master’s degree in personnel management from Central Michigan University, and a Master of Education from Old Dominion University. She also is a Certified Meeting Professional. She served 26 years on active duty in the Adjutant Generals Corps. She has extensive experience in military personnel, survivor assistance, and military family services. She retired from the Army in 2004. She is currently the Director of Membership events and Protocol at the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA).  She is married to MAJ (Ret) Tommy Walker and they have three adult children and two grandchildren.
