Annual Holiday Party
December 7, 2025
The National Association of Black Military Women (NABMW) DMV Chapter celebrated their annual holiday party with a commitment to community service. During the event, the chapter proudly collected and donated $765 in gift cards from its chapter members to the Easterseals Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP). The donation was formally accepted by Nicholas Feemster of Easter Seals. Presenting the generous contribution were the chapter’s President, MAJ (R) Teresa Polk (US Army), and the chapter’s Vice President of Military Operations, LTC (R) Cathy Troutman (US Army). This effort underscores the NABMW's dedication to providing essential resources and support for veterans in the DMV area as they work toward stable housing and employment."

“November 2025 Meeting”
Novemeber 19, 2025

The DMV Chapter had the privilege of attending the official opening ceremony of the British Embassy & Uniting US Art Exhibition 2025 Thanks to Nik Turk, SO2, and his team for making it happen. We had the distinct honor of meeting Princess Marie of Denmark. It was our first time meeting a real live Princess in person. She was delighted and thanked us, the National Association of Black Military Women (NABMW), for our miltary service. The event was hosted by Rear Admiral Timothy Christopher Woods, CBE, a senior Royal Navy Officer who serves as Head of the British Defense Staff and Defence Attaché in
Washington, D.C.
The event was a partnership with the US Veteran run non-profit Uniting US. All of the artists were either currently serving, veterans or family members of US personnel. The exhibition focused on promoting mental health and wellbeing through the healing arts and included paintings, sculpture, metalwork and wood carvings.
